ASSITEJ Australia

YPAA is the Australian Centre for ASSITEJ International. ASSITEJ International is the international network that unites thousands of individuals and organisations working in the field of theatre for children and young people, unified by national centres in more than 80 countries. It is a membership based, non political organisation with a commitment to peace and the rights of children and young people. YPAA is the recognised Australian member organisation for ASSITEJ International.
 
ASSITEJ International was established in 1965 and has since maintained and extended its membership network across the world. ASSITEJ is a French acronym for Association International du Theatre pour l’Enfance et la Jeunesse. We know it as the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People.
 
YPAA has an elected ASSITEJ International Representative board member, Noel Jordan. Noel was also recently elected to the ASSITEJ International Executive Committee, which has 17 members from across the world and acts as the decision-making body for the association.
